Grub need your help
As you noticed, Grub some time ago lost own server. Unfortunately, by last month we don't find any other for replacement. Thus I must ask for help everyone outside of project.
For continue work on Grub we need: one server with 2-3GB of RAM and around 200 GB of disk space. Plus around 30-50GB monthly bandwidth for network connection.
If we want create normal search engine, Grub need a really good server (or better servers), especially, with a lots of disk space and good network connection.
- Server with search index need minimum 2 GB of RAM to work (this is because Solr need a lots memory for normal work, especially, with very large indexes). Bigger amount of RAM and good CPU give faster indexing of URL's and optimization of index. Additional, it need a huge amount of disk space - 5 millions of URL's need around 80-90 GB of free space on disk. Thus Grub need probably around 100 TB free disk space (for 5 billions of URL's) if we want create normal search engine. Plus of course it need good network connection (for updating index and serve search results to users).
- Server for MySQL URL's database (database which contains URL's to crawl). It need a lots of disk space too: again 5 millions of URL's use around 1.5 GB disk space. So, optimal amount of space can be around 1.5-2 TB.
- Dispatch and upload server have a lots smaller requirements. All other infrastructure of search engine can be placed on one server, 2GB of RAM is absolutely enough for normal work. And disk usage of is much smaller than in database and index server - maximum needed space is around 250-500 GB.
At this moment, in exchange, we can offer advertisement on our page (or any other "payment"), this depends on offer.

re: Grub need your help
I have an account with www.bluehost.com.
I have been very happy with them.
I don't understand some of what you have written, but it looks like an account with bluehost would meet the conditions you describe.
If so, I would be willing to pay for an account there.

Hi Thank you for offer, but
Hi
Thank you for offer, but unfortunately, this is not good hosting for Grub.
At this moment we have one server on which I slowly work to set up everything. After this i write more informations.
So, slowly Grub back to life.
Let me know if there is anything else I can do
I obviously am not in your league but I am competent in Perl, PerlCgi, and I have programmed in C and C++.
Bill
I always think that C
I always think that C programmers are better than C# ;) When I set up server again, knowledge about C and Perl can be very useful for Grub. Thank you very much again for offer.
