Problem entering proxy server address

My computer needs to use proxy server 10.51.252.101 port 8080 but when you enter this a box pops up telling you you must
fill the empty fields. My proxy server doesn't require a user name or password, but the interface won't let you leave those fields blank. What should I do?

Hi

I have questions: did you enter in "HTTP proxy server" field your proxy address with "http://"? Or maybe you wrote port of proxy in this field instead in field below (field "Port")?

Regards

Bartek

Yes, I used http://10.51.252.101 for the HTTP proxy server, and 8080 for the Port, but the program doesn't let you save them.
See attachment. When you click Apply, you get the Fill empty fields box. These fields need to be left blank, so I don't know what else to do.

First, thank you for answer. I was change issue on bug report.
Reason: is not empty login or password field but empty field with address to sitemap server (in "Sitemaps" tab).
Workaround at this moment: write any address in "Sitemap server" (for example http://grub.org), then all should back to normal.
And I have last question - which version of Windows did you use (XP, Vista, etc)?

#4

I am using Windows XP Service Pack 2.
I did eventually get the program running, but it crashed and is unresponsive, and it won't quit.
On this computer I can't use the Task Manager to end the program because it has been disabled by the Administrator.

Hi

If this is not problem, could you add file error.log? You can find it in directory where you install client.
BTW - running 50 crawlers can completely overloaded system if you don't have 2 or more processors (or dual-core processor) and lots of RAM ;)

#6

Ok , I tried again this afternoon and got the program running to my satisfaction, but after 11 minutes 27 seconds the program
crashed and locked up again.
I looked in the GrubNG folder, but no error log file is present anywhere in there.

#7

I have found that by selecting Details and right clicking on a crawler, I can see that the crawlers are still running, and it is only the visible user interface that has locked up, if that helps.

#8

OK, thank you, this can help a little. About error.log - maybe this file is in this same directory where are .arc files?

#9

This morning I started it up in debug mode, but after 5 minutes the interface crashed.
The debug window has no output on it.
This is a public library computer, and the work files are somewhere on C: Drive, which I can't access on this computer.
C: Drive is locked by the Administrator.
I can't use the Task Manager, so I can't tell what is happening.
At the end of my session the computer will perform a System Restore, and all my Grub installation will be deleted.
I'm sorry that I can't be of more help.

First, thank you very much for this informations too. ;)
I have other questions (maybe this helps resolve this problem):
1. Did you try install client in other older/drive (if it is available)
2. Did you try change working directory of client (in Options) before start crawling?
3. If you only start program (without start crawling), it crash after some time too?
4. If this is not problem, could you write step by step what are you exactly doing?
Unfortunately, at this moment i can test client only on Vista, thus i need some more informations about this crash (and for find reason, why on XP client have so ugly appearance ;) )
